Summer 2022
Summer is here!! The AC is working. Rather warm but much better than Arizona and other places is the USA. We have been very busy, and folks are buying custom furniture as they re-do their homes. We just finished a Custom Couch and matching Coffee Table in Quarter sawn white Oak that was just stunning.
Tim & Lori Pfeiler already own 2 of our chairs that they have enjoyed for years. California West Bow Arm Chair, Traditional Bow Arm Chair both in leather reviewed April 2015.
Lori & Tim Pfeiler wrote; “I have long admired Brian's chairs every year at the Arts Partnership auction. Finally, we bought two. They are the center pieces of our living room. They are our living works of art. I sit in one chair and just rest, reflecting on the week and the good life I have. Then I begin staring at the other chair and admire the lines of the wood, and the simple lines of the chair. Great art can keep your attention for a good while. After a time, I have to get up and change chairs so I can admire the other chair. It is different, has different wood, different lines, and tells a different story. These chairs offer a beautiful place to come, rest, contemplate, converse, read and just be at peace because, of the mastery of the craftsman in honing a classic piece of art. Thank you, Brian!"
We did enter the Design in Wood Show at the Del Mar Fair in which we were a sponsor for 35 years. We were awarded a Blue Ribbon for our chair! Very nice and that Chair is for sale at a discounted Summer Price.
The Fair ends soon and the collection of woodworking on display is almost 300 pieces.. The show had been cancelled for 3 years because of COVID but it is now back and is very good. A must see when at the Fair.
The lumber industry has been impacted by high prices, lack of inventory and other factors that makes the selection of premium lumber tough. Bob Evans at Strata Forest Products in El Cajon has sure made it possible for us to continue building using the very best lumber! In the pieces that we build, you will never find second grade lumber used. Not many furniture stores can say that!
