Well, it is Springtime, and the orange trees are in bloom. They smell so great! This week continues the downpour of rain! More to come next week. Just finishing a group of projects and getting ready to start a King Size Stickley influenced bed and our second entry for the Design in Wood Show at the Del Mar Fair in June. Last year, after 35 years, we entered and won a Blue Ribbon. We were a sponsor before that time and spomsors were not allowed to enter!
This Chair & Footstool were made of curly maple and walnut with South American Leather. The arms are stunning, and the chair was sold a few days into the show. Hopefully the new chair will do as well!

This Chair & Footstool are made of curly maple and walnut with South American Leather also. These pictures are of a chair that was made for Kevin & Debbie Svetich. Which is very similar to the show chair. We have a hand full of folks that are patrons. Kevin & Debbie have 9 pieces of our furniture! Jon & Susan Rodriguez have 24!! And there are many others, and we greatly appreciate their business.
The curly maple is just stunning in the show chair. These pictures are of a chair that was made for Kevin & Debbie Svetich.

“We recently added Brian’s Bow Arm Chair to our small collection of one of a kind, extraordinary fine furniture. Our chair is of curly maple and walnut with a beautifully crafted leather back rest, cushion, and Foot Stool. The master has brought out the natural beauty of the wood grains and the construction of the chair is flawless. This is truly a work of art, and we love it! Thank you... Brian”
Jon & Susan Rodriguez wrote: “When we began to look for dining room and living room furniture, we had 3 criteria in mind: quality, reasonable price, and local production. In Brian Murphy, of Murphy’s Fine Woodworking, we found everything we were looking for, and more. Brian is more than a woodworker who makes furniture; he is an artist with a refined eye for detail. Each piece was hand-crafted of superior quality and exquisite detail. For our project, he used quarter-sawn oak to give a spectacular grain pattern then handpicked the pieces with the most distinctive grain to use in the most visible areas of each piece. The drawers of our bedroom dresser were made from the same piece of oak and the grain pattern flows continuously across the dresser. We were so impressed with the Mission style living room and dining room furniture Brian made for us, that we commissioned him to make a bedroom set, as well. We now have 24 family heirlooms and beautiful pieces of “art” throughout our home. We love the furniture, and we loved working with Brian”.
Pat & Richard Custin’s twin Spindle Arm Morris Chairs finished in Ultrasuede 666
Here are pair of our Spindle Arm Morris Chair’s and Footstools for Pat & Richards home. The build was curly maple for the arms and frame and highly figured for the canted arms and rails. The legs were walnut along with the side slats. The back support was walnut and maple slats. The foot stool followed the same design.

This was some time ago and one of my favorite Chairs..
Denis and Carolyn Royer Kitchen Table, curly maple top and black lacquer base
My table was delivered this morning and is exactly, perfectly correct for its place in the kitchen. As with the other comments, the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and design are "top drawer". Brian's creativity designed a table I had not even thought about... . the end result could not be better! He is going to build a curio cabinet for me after the first of the year!!
An area for the San Diego Natural History Museum. Whale head and other creatures on display. Our now famous Couch and tables.
